Best Hunting Purchase in 2024: My Ororo Heated Vest

Comfortable. Versatile. Great Investment.

Do you hunt in a northern state of the U.S. during deer season or work in a cold environment? Let me tell you about my favorite purchase in 2024. The Ororo Men’s heated fleece vest has been keeping me warm and was worth every penny! I wear it almost every day during the winter months.

I work in a food production facility all day in Michigan and spend a lot of time outdoors receiving trucks and tankers to our facility. My co-workers like to make fun of me for wearing my long johns but they don’t have to work in the cold, like I do.

Battery-Life

The battery lasts all day and I don’t have to recharge until I get home after my shift. My friends who have purchased one say it “seems to last through years of heavy use” for them. Others have tried the Milwaukee brand but didn’t like the big, bulky battery-pack–it kept digging into their side.

What color to buy?

I recommend the black one because it’s more versatile for wearing in multiple places, not just for hunting. Believe me, investing in this vest will make tackling cold days outdoors a whole new ballgame.

And the added bonus: it’s kept me warm out in the woods during hunting season! Now that I have this heated vest under my clothes it’s like having a secret weapon against the chill! This vest is a game-changer for those freezing days out in the woods.

Layer with your heated vest

First, put on a base layer, then the vest, then a hoodie or sweatshirt, and last your outerwear for hunting. The heat on your core targets your whole upper body and the warmth boosts blood flow to your other muscles. This helps loosen your joints and prevent damage or injury. So you’re less likely to get hurt. Kind of the same principle as warming up before playing a sport.

How to turn it on the Ororo Heated Vest?

To turn the vest on, insert the battery pack into the pocket located on the inside left hip of the vest pocket. The battery plugs into the cord located inside the pocket. After plugging in the battery, simply press and hold the power button on the left chest area and hold until the button illuminates red.  Adjusting the temperature is done by pressing the control button and selecting white for low heat, blue for medium heat, and red for high power.

How to wash it?

You can simply remove the battery pack and follow the instructions for washing.

How long does the battery take to charge?

Battery charging may take up to 4 hours.  As a simple rule of thumb, I simply put it on the charger and leave it to charge overnight.

If you need more tips on hunting essentials, you can check out what I pack in my hunting backpack or read about the three sets of shooting sticks I own.

Picture this: It’s reliable, gets the job done efficiently, and helps you power through those long shifts, especially in the winter! If you’ve been looking for a heated vest that not only keeps you cozy but also stands up against the rigors of an action-packed day, this Ororo heated vest is your answer.
