Hello, I’m Scott
Welcome to my world as a Michigan hunter for more than 45 years. I created this account to help beginners start hunting, share stories about my hunting adventures, connect with fellow hunters, and inspire those who want to explore the great outdoors. Since I was a kid, I’ve had a passion for hunting, and now, as I turn 55, I’m on a mission to help beginners get started hunting. If you love the outdoors, you’re in the right place. We’ll be spending a lot of time in the woods.
Nature can help decrease your anxiety levels and can help lessen stress and feelings of anger. Regular access to green spaces has been linked to lower risks of depression and improved concentration and attention.
I truly enjoy hunting, creating wonderful memories with family and friends. On this platform, I want to share these experiences, successes, and even times when things didn’t go as planned. In a changing world where fewer young people are exploring hunting, I believe it’s crucial for the tradition to continue. This isn’t just my story; it’s an invitation for others to join in, experience the excitement, and make hunting their own.
A new survey by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service shows that today, only about 5 percent of Americans, 16 years old and older, actually hunt. That’s half of what it was 50 years ago and the decline is expected to accelerate over the next decade.
This journey goes beyond getting lots of followers or likes. It’s about sparking curiosity in someone new. Whether you’re an experienced hunter seeking camaraderie or someone new to hunting wanting to learn, this space is for you. Together, we’ll explore the beauty of hunting in Michigan, share tips on scouting, tracking, and understanding food sources, and discuss the nuances of archery and guns, including rifles. Join me on this adventure, where tradition meets nature, and let’s make hunting a passion for everyone.
